My Services
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
I design and automate cloud environments that scale efficiently, ensuring high availability, security, and cost optimization.
CI/CD Pipeline Development
I build robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to streamline software delivery and improve developer velocity.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
I use Terraform, CloudFormation, and other IaC tools to provision and manage cloud resources with repeatability and consistency.
Kubernetes & Container Orchestration
I deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring reliability, auto-scaling, and efficient resource utilization.
Backend Engineering & API Development
I create high-performance, secure, and scalable backend systems, specializing in RESTful and gRPC APIs in Python and Golang.
Site Reliability Engineering & Monitoring
I implement observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to improve system reliability and performance.
Security & Compliance
I ensure cloud security and compliance (PCI DSS, SOC2, etc.) through access controls, encryption, and best DevSecOps practices.
AWS & GCP Cloud Migration
I help teams migrate infrastructure and services between AWS, GCP, Azure and on-prem environments with minimal downtime.
DevOps & Cloud Consulting
I provide strategic guidance on DevOps best practices, cloud architecture, and automation to enhance team productivity.
Work History
Zepz (WorldRemit | SendWave)
I work for Zepz as a DevOps contractor. I work on a multi-cloud infrastructure mostly on AWS but with some legacy parts on Azure and GCP. I work with AWS RDS, VPCs, Site to Site VPNs, EKS, IAM with Okta SSO, IRSA for EKS, ArgoCD, ... etc. All the infrastructure is managed via Terraform.
Moved
I worked part-time for Moved developing, hosting, and maintaining their backend application written in Python Flask and hosted on AWS Elastic Beanstalk. Since I joined the team I managed to pioneer and champion the creation of a new branch of their application dedicated to providing admin control to their clients all while exhibiting great autonomy, time management, and communication. I also took up any DevOps tasks on the board and ensured our infra was well documented in Cloud Formation and properly configured to scale on AWS Elastic Beanstalk.
InnovateEDU
I joined InnovateEDU for a short-term contract to help them cut down cloud costs for their clients, document their infrastructure in IAC with Terraform for easier adoption by clients, and set up reliable end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for their developers. While at InnovateEDU, I was mostly working with Terraform, GCP, Kubernetes, Bitbucket Pipelines, Helm, and Apache Airflow to mention but a few tools.
Lambda School
I worked with the Lambda school admissions engineering team in developing and continuously improving our student intake process on our Typescript/React front-end and Python/Flask back-end applications which were hosted on Heroku. I also single-handedly worked on creating an on-boarding batch workflow to automate various student admission processes using Cloudformation, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions and Slack, Zoho and Salesforce APIs on the development side.
Export Trade Group
I worked on setting up and maintaining our Google Kubernetes Engine infrastructure for a Java(Spring Boot) based system and created a fully automated CI/CD pipeline for more streamlined development. I also documented all of our GCP infrastructures in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
Turing
I offered DevOps and Backend development services on-demand for various of Turing's clients as a contractor.

Paul Trueman
Working with Artur has been a pleasure. Better yet - I alerted them of a minor issue before going to sleep. The issue was fixed the next morning. I couldn't ask for better support. Thank you Artur! This is easily a 5 star freelancer.
Spincity
I set up microservice infrastructure for the online casino on AWS with Terraform IAC and Kubernetes for container orchestration and scaling. I also worked on developing the backend services in Golang and Python and created a large-scale data flow pipeline that allowed them to communicate together with Kafka as the streaming service.

Natalya Dorris
Working with Artur has been a pleasure. Better yet - I alerted them of a minor issue before going to sleep. The issue was fixed the next morning. I couldn't ask for better support. Thank you Artur! This is easily a 5 star freelancer.
Andela
I worked remotely as a Devops engineer maintaining and scaling Andela's high traffic VOF product(written in Ruby) on Kubernetes and creating CI/CD(Jenkins) integrations for a variety of their development teams. I also got the chance to design and develop some of their pilot projects in Python and Golang.
Kubernetes
I joined the Kubernetes community to contribute to the development of the Kubernetes engine in Golang. I worked with Special Interest Group CLI(SIG-CLI)which is responsible for the development of the command-line interface for Kubernetes(Kubectl). I worked on implementing new features and raising fixes for bugs and triaging issues that are reported on the repository for fellow open source contributors.
Recommendations

Ibrahim Mbaziira
When looking for a Devops engineer, you put into consideration the ability to learn big picture and technical details, the ability to guide others in executing tasks, the ability to handle push-back and the ability to criticize others in a candid manner is critical.
Martin exhibits all these traits and he'd be a great fit for your team.

Ricky Nyairo
If you want a stable, highly available application with a lean infrastructure and very fast response times, Martin is your guy. A superb problem-solver, he has helped to transition an application from a VM architecture to a containerized architecture, leading to a significant decrease in maintenance costs.

Chris Nyaga
Martin played a key role in my team as a Devops engineer delivering not only infrastructure value but also giving insightful input on product and team workflows and direction. He is a proactive engineer ready deliver and eager to dive into unfamiliar territory with good will and energy to succeed.

Darius Ndubi
Martin is a highly skilled DevOps engineer with a knack for solving problems efficiently and securely. He is proficient in Docker, GCP, Vagrant, Jenkins, CircleCI, IaC technologies, and application monitoring. He also mentored me and effectively managed stakeholders, ensuring secure, reliable systems.
